NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
WHEREAS Thomas and Megan Cazier, have petitioned to vacate, abandon, discontinue and renounce any interest and right of the public in and to the following described property to wit:
THAT PORTION OF LURAY STREET (60 R/W) BEING FURTHER DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS (PREPARED BY SANTA ROSA COUNTY SURVEYING):
COMMENCING AT THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF LOT 1, BLOCK A, GOLDEN ACRES UNIT 1 AS RECORDEDIN PLAT BOOK D, PAGE 73 OF THE PUBLIC RECORDS OF SANTA ROSA COUNTY, FLORIDA; THENCEPROCEED N 8520'33" E ALONG THE NORTHERLY RIGHT OF WAY LINE OF LURAY STREET (60' RIGHT OFWAY) FOR A DISTANCE OF 90.99' TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING; THENCE CONTINUE N 8520'33" EALONG SAID NORTHERLY RIGHT OF WAY LINE FOR A DISTANCE OF 636.07' TO THE POINT OFCURVATURE OF A CURVE CONCAVE TO THE SOUTHWEST HAVING A RADIUS OF 85.00', A DELTA ANGLEOF 10204'02", A CHORD BEARING OF S 4337'26" E AND A CHORD DISTANCE OF 132.18'; THENCEPROCEED EASTERLY AND SOUTHERLY ALONG SAID CURVE FOR A DISTANCE OF 151.42' TO A POINT ONTHE EASTERLY RIGHT OF WAY LINE OF LARGO ROAD (60' R/W); THENCE PROCEED S 0724'33" W ALONGSAID EASTERLY RIGHT OF WAY LINE FOR A DISTANCE OF 100.61'; THENCE PROCEED N 8235'27" W FORA DISTANCE OF 60.00' TO THE WESTERLY RIGHT OF WAY LINE OF LARGO ROAD (60' R/W); THENCEPROCEED N 0724'33" E ALONG SAID WESTERLY RIGHT OF WAY LINE FOR A DISTANCE OF 100.61' TO THEPOINT OF CURVATURE OF A CURVE CONCAVE TO THE SOUTHWEST HAVING A RADIUS OF 25.00', ADELTA ANGLE OF 10204'02", A CHORD BEARING OF N 4337'26" W AND A CHORD DISTANCE OF 38.88';THENCE PROCEED WESTERLY ALONG THE ARC OF SAID CURVE FOR A DISTANCE OF 44.54' TO A POINTON THE SOUTHERLY RIGHT OF WAY LINE OF LURAY STREET (60' R/W); THENCE PROCEED S 8520'33" WALONG SAID SOUTHERLY RIGHT OF WAY LINE FOR A DISTANCE OF 636.07' TO THE POINT OFCURVATURE OF A CURVE CONCAVE TO THE WEST HAVING A RADIUS OF 50.00', A DELTA ANGLE OF 7344'19", A CHORD BEARING OF N 0439'27" W, AND A CHORD DISTANCE OF 60.00'; THENCE PROCEED WESTERLY ALONG THE ARC OF SAID CURVE FOR A DISTANCE OF 64.35' TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING.
SAID PARCEL CONTAINING 1.140 ACRES, MORE OR LESS, AND LYING AND BEING IN SECTION 18, TOWNSHIP 1 SOUTH, RANGE 28 WEST, SANTA ROSA COUNTY, FLORIDA.
AND WHEREAS, a time and date have been established for a public hearing for the Board of County Commissioners to consider the advisability of exercising its authority pursuant to Chapter 336 of the general statutes to vacate, abandon, discontinue, renounce, and disclaim any right or interest of the public in and to the above-described property.
NOW THEREFORE, all interested persons and the public generally are directed that a public hearing upon the above-mentioned petition, shall be held by the Board of County Commissioners of Santa Rosa County, Florida, in the board room in the Santa Rosa County Administrative Center located at 6495 Caroline Street, Milton, Florida on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 8:30 a.m., Central Time, or as soon thereafter as the matter can be considered.
All interested parties should take notice that if they decide to appeal any decision made by the Board of County Commissioners with respect to any matter coming before said Board at said meeting, it is their individual responsibility to insure that a record of proceedings they are appealing exists and for such purpose they will need to insure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record shall include the testimony and the evidence upon which their appeal is to be based. Interested parties may appear at the meeting and be heard with respect to this matter.
Santa Rosa County adheres to the American Disabilities Act and will make reasonable modifications and accommodations for access to these hearings upon request.
