NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING The Council of the CITY OF CAPE CORAL hereby gives notice of its intent to enact Ordinance #5-26 AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE CORAL, FLORIDA, AMENDING THE CITY OF CAPE CORAL, FLORIDA, CODE OF ORDINANCES, CHAPTER 2, ADMINISTRATION, ARTICLE VI, PENSIONS, DIVISION 1, POLICE PENSION, SECTION 2-121.3, BOARD OF TRUSTEES, REGARDING THE STAGGERING OF TRUSTEE TERMS; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. The public hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, February 18, 2026, in Council Chambers at City Hall, 1015 Cultural Park Boulevard, during a regular Council session beginning at 4:00 p.m. The public hearing may be continued to a time and date certain by announcement at this public hearing. Copies of this Ordinance may be obtained from the City Clerk's Office during normal office hours at City Hall for a nominal fee. Interested parties may appear at the meeting and be heard with respect to the proposed ordinance. Any person who decides to appeal any decision made by the City Council at that meeting will need a record of proceedings, and that, for such purpose, subject person may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based. In accordance with Section 286.26, Florida Statutes, persons with disabilities needing special accommodations to participate in this meeting should contact the City Clerk (1-239-574-0411) at least 48 hours prior to the meeting.
