NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING The Council of the CITY OF CAPE CORAL hereby gives notice of its intent to enact Ordinance #6-26 AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE CORAL, FLORIDA, REPEALING SECTION 5.1.18, ABANDONED VEHICLES OR WATERCRAFT, SET FORTH WITHIN ARTICLE 5, DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS, CHAPTER 1, GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL DEVELOPMENT, OF THE CITY OF CAPE CORAL, FLORIDA, LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE; AMENDING THE CITY OF CAPE CORAL, FLORIDA, CODE OF ORDINANCES, CHAPTER 12, OFFENSES AND MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS, ARTICLE XII, PARKING RESTRICTIONS, BY AMENDING SECTIONS 12-127.1, 12-127.11 AND 12-127.17; AND BY CREATING SECTIONS 12-127.18, PENALTIES AND ENFORCEMENT AND RIGHTS OF VIOLATORS, AND SECTION 12-127.19, ABANDONED VEHICLES OR WATERCRAFT; PROVIDING FOR PARKING RESTRICTIONS IN THE CITY; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION AND RESOLUTION OF CONFLICTING LAWS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE. The public hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, February 18, 2026, in Council Chambers at City Hall, 1015 Cultural Park Boulevard, during a regular Council session beginning at 4:00 p.m. The public hearing may be continued to a time and date certain by announcement at this public hearing. Copies of this Ordinance may be obtained from the City Clerk's Office during normal office hours at City Hall for a nominal fee. Interested parties may appear at the meeting and be heard with respect to the proposed ordinance. Any person who decides to appeal any decision made by the City Council at that meeting will need a record of proceedings, and that, for such purpose, subject person may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based. In accordance with Section 286.26, Florida Statutes, persons with disabilities needing special accommodations to participate in this meeting should contact the City Clerk (1-239-574-0411) at least 48 hours prior to the meeting.
