PUBLIC NOTICE New Smyrna Beach Utilities will be temporarily changing the form of the disinfectant used in the drinking water as a preventative best management practice to ensure the health and safety of the public water system. Beginning February 16th, 2026, NSBU will be converting from the normal disinfection agent, chloramine, to free chlorine, for a period of six weeks. After six weeks, on March 27th, 2026, the drinking water will convert back to the typical chloramine disinfectant.
